About the event
About Black Maternal Health Week:
Black Maternal Health Week is an annual observance dedicated to raising awareness about the health disparities and inequities faced by Black women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. It serves as a platform to advocate for policies and solutions to improve maternal health outcomes for Black mothers and birthing people.
About the Hosts:
Black Women For Wellness is dedicated to the health and well-being of Black women and girls through health education, empowerment, and advocacy. Their mission is to create positive shifts and changes needed to impact the health status of the Black community.
CinnaMoms began in 2015 with a vision to increase breastfeeding rates among Black/African American women at the PHFE WIC Program. We provide support circles and safe spaces to discuss maternal and postpartum health, support systems, cultural beliefs, and the health benefits of breastfeeding.
Event Highlights:

- Live Art Installation: Witness the power of visual expression.
- Community Resources: Connect with organizations and resources dedicated to supporting Black maternal health.
