#DearCinnaMoms: Tasting Our Way Through Black History

At CinnaMoms, we believe in the power of community and support, especially for our Black and African American mothers navigating motherhood's beautiful yet challenging journey. We embrace February, a month dedicated to honoring and celebrating our community's rich history, achievements, and contributions.

Here is how we celebrated Black History Month at our fantastic location, CinnaMoms Crenshaw. We worked with something that everyone loves: you guessed it, "FOOD."

CinnaMoms partnered with Black Women for Wellness for a cooking Demo!

Chef Angie shared the history behind different foods from across the African Diaspora. Afterward, she showed us how to make Ethiopian Lentils, Southern Black-eyed peas, okra succotash, Haitian pickled veggies (pikliz), Nigerian Jollof Rice, and a Caribbean Plantain Flan.

We then enjoyed samples of all the dishes, which were all WIC-approved ingredients.

We appreciate both Black Women for Wellness and New Los Angeles Charter School for joining us.
